Fort Knox Five

The FORT KNOX FIVE is a leading force in the international funk and breaks scene. Having released an arsenal of floor rocking singles and remixes, the FORT KNOX FIVE has the  midas touch for producing heavy hitting records.

Sid Barcelona, Jon Horvath, Rob Myers and Steve Raskin are the masterminds behind the FORT KNOX FIVE. They established Fort Knox Recordings in 2003 to release party-rocking  music that crosses tempos and defies genres. Their world renowned ‘Fort Knox Sound' has overtaken dance-floors with its distinct interweaving of live instrumentation with funky  electronic breakbeats. In 2006 they released the critically acclaimed ‘The New Gold Standard' to showcase the groundbreaking sounds from their premier funk and soul label.

The FORT KNOX FIVE's talent for organic hooks has made them highly sought after producers and remixers. They have over 20 remixes to their credit, including monster mixes for A.  Skillz and Krafty Kuts, Kraak & Smaak, Ursula 1000, Dynamo Productions, and Mo' Horizons, as well as remixes for the legendary Tito Puente, Louis Armstrong, and Bob Marley. The  FORT KNOX FIVE has coined the term ‘Reminted' to represent their signature remixing style. They released the first ‘Reminted' CD showcasing some of their favorite productions  in a continuous DJ mix in 2007.

As DJs, they know how to rock a party with infectious grooves that effortlessly move from funk, reggae, and hip-hop to prime time beats & breaks. Their unique DJ style has proven  irresistible to clubgoers worldwide. They have performed on 5 continents, and in over 25 different countries. The Fort Knox Five have spun at some of the most prestigious venues in  the world such as Madison Square Gardens in NYC, the Hollywood Bowl in LA, La Paloma in Barcelona, Fabric in London, and Die Registrateur in Munich just to name a few. Their  music & skills caught the attention of Gwen Stefani, who asked the FORT KNOX FIVE to be her tour DJs for her Harajuku Lovers tour with the Black Eyed Peas. The Mandalay Bay  Resort & Casino hired the FK5 to provide musical direction for Eyecandy Sound Lounge.

DJ Adam S.

Since 1997 Adam has brought music for both the mind and feet to dance floors on both coasts. Adam’s style is hard to categorize, but easy to dance to. He takes music that interlaces live instrumentation and vocals with a stiff funky break beat – regardless of the tempo.  He was first exposed to dance music during the start of the rave scene in Baltimore, MD where he attended early renegade parties and club nights. In 1997 Broken Beat Lounge was launched and had Adam playing alongside national guests like Miguel Migs, John Howard, Ursula 1000, Charles Feelgood, Stickmen, Robbie & Gavin Hardkiss and International guests like Mix Master Morris and Miles Holloway. Since moving to San Francisco, music has taken a backseat to his day job as an event and festival producer. However, he can still be found at underground events and fundraisers including events like LovEvolution and Bay 2 Breakers, rocking crowds with his unique brand of funky breaks.  After 12+ years, Adam still geeks out on phat beats and movin’ crowds. There is no greater rush…well, almost no other…

Rebecca Watkins

Inspired by the deep house sounds in the clubs and underground raves of sf in the early 90s, Rebecca Watkins broke out onto the scene..A passion for dancing got her hooked into the bgirl crew scene, and the music lured her out of the circles and closer to the turntables. Thus, she started collecting records in 94, and the rest is History Smile

In 98, barely legal, she landed her own tuesday weekly  residency "Synesthesia"  at sf's most notorious dj bar, The Top. The buzz spread, and shortly after became  a resident on fridays there as well. Coproducing these fridays, Owen's infamous parties.. and continues to play his events alongside Very Happyj Buck, RaSoul, Idjut Boys, Steve Loria, Gene Farris,dj Sneak, Tony Hewitt, Wicked Crew,Evil Eddie Richards, Mr C, Mark Ambrose, Spun, Onionz, and Kenny Dope Gonzales. This era also spawned her as a resident of Loose Joints the top, alongside Ben Cook, of notorious Rong Music on Thursday nights.
Rebecca went on to flourish in residencies for San Francisco's cherished underground parties such as Green Gorilla Lounge. She also headlines many of the cherished Sunset Pacific Sound events, both their outdoor gatherings and warehouse undergrounds..with sf's hometown heroes Solar & Galen & Jbird.

Influenced by  an array of  different styles of music growing up, Rebecca Watkins' sound reflects this spectrum. From her roots in dub, to the dark electronic ventures of the eighties, her selection draws from an eclectic imagination..From her beginning mixing of rhythmic quirky tribal acidic house of the early 90s, to dancehall, hip hop, new wave, and rock..any set will certainly be a mixed bag of sound.
