Changing Climate, Changing Needs: Effects of Climate Change on the Poor :: our climate is changing and we need to do something about it. This discussion will help you understand the basic premise of the climate change debate and how it affects the rich and poor alike, although with poverty climate change can be catastrophic. Learn how your voice and simple actions can make a difference. Get facts about climate change with these workshops and apply this knowledge to your life now!

Defending Girls’ Rights: Empowering Girls to Learn and Lead :: Did you know that 60% of the world’s poorest people are women and girls? Gender discrimination robs girls of the power to make decisions, to earn a living, to avoid violence and exploitation, and to access legal protection. Learn how ensuring a quality education, removing barriers to girls’ leadership, and engaging girls in collective action are some of the ways girls can become the leaders of change in their own lives and in the lives of others.

Fighting Global Hunger: Modernizing Our Approach to Food Security :: Hunger is one of the most devastating, widespread epidemics in the world and the global financial crisis has affected every level of society bringing hunger and poverty in our own neighborhoods. There are a growing 960 million hungry people in this world today – think about that. We will offer insights and examples on how to help our neighbors, ourselves and some of the most desperate people living in poverty today. We can make change in more ways than you think!

CELEBRATION: Workshops will be followed by a refreshing Mixer Reception with organic wine, beer, foods and a concert with Michael Franti and Brazilian dancers, drummers and music to end a weekend of music, art and action! Be the change and be of service to your world!
